Vehicles With Single FAKRA Antenna Connector, Connection: Quadlock (Fakra)
THIS KIT IS SUITABLE WHEN INSTALLING A BRANDED UNIT SUCH AS PIONEER KENWOOD SONY ALPINE JVC THAT COME AS STANDARD WITH A DOUBLE DIN CAGE AND TRIM WITH THE STEREO. THE CAGE AND TRIM WILL FIT THE DASH PERFECTLY.
SUITABLE FOR VW POLO WITH DASH TYPE BELOW:
THE SUPPLIED ISO HARNESS HAS A LOOSE RED WIRE THAT WILL REQUIRE A MANUAL CONNECTION TO AN IGNITION LIVE.
THIS PARTICULAR MODEL WITH THIS DASH STYLE HAS AN ACCESSORY LIVE SUPPLY IN THE PLUG AS STANDARD SO CONNECT THE RED WIRE TO THE BLACK WIRE WITH RED STRIPE ( BLUE ARROW LOCATION ) USING THE VACANT LOCATION IN THE NEW ADAPTER HARNESS IN THE PHOTO:
THE ORANGE WIRE ON THE ADAPTER THAT IS LOOSE IS INTENDED FOR CONNECTION TO A 12 VOLT ILLUMINATION CIRCUIT.
THIS IS TO DIM DOWN THE TOUCHSCREEN DISPLAYS ON SOME STEREOS SO THEY ARE NOT SO BRIGHT AT NIGHT.
THIS WILL REQUIRE A MANUAL CONNECTION SOMEWHERE ON THE VEHICLE AS THIS IS NOT PRESENT IN THE ORIGINAL PLUG.
There is an Aerial Adaptor also included with the Wiring Adaptor.
Fascia Adaptor
This adaptor will convert the non din-sized aperture left after removing the factory stereo to a din size ready for head unit installation. The high quality finish, colour and texture are designed specifically to maintain the original look of your vehicles interior.
Wiring Harness
Connect the head unit to the original radio connector. This adapter is required when replacing your factory fitted radio with an aftermarket radio. It will convert the original vehicle power & speaker wiring connectors to a standard ISO connector. Simply plug one end of the adapter into your cars wiring harness and the other into your new radio. *For Aftermarket Radio With DIN Antenna Connector*
Stereo Removal Keys
Stereo Removal Keys to remove headunit from the fascia cage. Many OEM manufacturers are incorporating special locking mechanisms into their head units in an attempt to prevent stereo theft. This means that to remove one of these units you will require a manufacturer specific stereo removal key to prevent damage to the head unit or the surrounding fascia and cage.
Please Note
- When connected your new stereo may not power up, and this is no fault of the wiring harness purchased.
- Audi / VW / Skoda / Fiat and other vehicles tend not to have an ignition switched live feed.
- In these cases it is necessary to manually connect a spurred live feed from fuse box for example to feed switched power so the new stereo turns on and off with the key.
- The wire in particular on the new wiring harness will be the red wire.
Important Fascia:
- The fascias are made to suit industry standard sized stereos such as Alpine, JVC, Kenwood, Pioneer, Sony etc, NOT INCLUDING China units or unbranded units.
- China units have a reputation to be over sized and may require modification to the fascia to allow it to fit.
- We do not take any responsibility for China units not fitting as they are not industry standard size.
