This complete Double DIN stereo upgrade fitting kit is designed specifically for VW Golf MK7 (2012–2016) models equipped with factory Composition Media or Discover Navigation Pro (MIB II) systems. It enables the installation of an aftermarket head unit while maintaining full integration with the vehicle’s original electronic systems. The included CAN-Bus Infoadapter ensures seamless communication between the new stereo and the vehicle, preserving factory functionality and dashboard integration.

The VW Steering Wheel Control Infoadapter retains steering wheel control functionality and phone button operation, while also retaining vehicle settings and generating on-screen configuration menus through the new head unit. It maintains parking sensor audio and generates parking sensor graphics where supported, and provides outputs for park brake, reverse gear, speed pulse and mute. An optional input is also available for integrating an aftermarket reversing camera, allowing further system expansion while preserving factory features.

The kit includes DAB and FM aerial adapters, a universal patch lead, and a precision-moulded Double DIN fascia adapter for an OEM-style dashboard finish.

Due to limited space behind the factory unit, we recommend pairing with the Pioneer SPH-DA77DAB or stereos featuring an L-shaped single DIN chassis such as Pioneer SPH-EVO98DAB-1D or SPH-EVO107DAB

Due to restricted installation depth behind the factory stereo system, we recommend pairing this kit with the Pioneer SPH-DA77DAB or another aftermarket stereo featuring an L-shaped bottom single DIN chassis, as these compact designs provide the necessary rear clearance for correct fitment.

Alternatively, floating screen systems are also an excellent solution for this vehicle due to their shallow chassis design. Compatible examples include:

• Pioneer SPH-EVO107DAB

These floating screen systems use a compact single DIN rear chassis with a larger front display, making them particularly well-suited to the depth restrictions of the Golf MK7 dashboard.

Fascia Adaptor

This Double DIN stereo fascia adapter is designed specifically for VW Golf MK7 (2012–2016) models equipped with factory Composition Media or Discover Navigation Pro systems. It replaces the original dashboard trim panel to allow installation of an aftermarket Double DIN head unit while maintaining a clean, factory-style appearance. Steering Control Adaptor

Car Audio Steering wheel interface allowing use of original buttons with a new aftermarket head-unit. This interface allows the use of the Steering Wheel audio controls, as well retaining the vehicle menus when installing an aftermarket head unit.

Fakra DAB Male to DAB SMB Female Antenna Adapter

Use to convert the original (Fakra DAB) antenna connector in a car to a female SMB (used on aftermarket head-units)

Double Din Fascia Adapter Panel

This cable converts the original antenna connector in the car, known as a Double Fakra connector, to a standard aftermarket antenna connector, known as a DIN connector.

The adapter cable has a built in module which provides a phantom power feed to the original antenna in the car. A phantom power feed is a 12v power supply that is sent up the centre wire of the antenna cable, this powers the amplifier built into the original antenna. The antenna adapter cable has a loose wire which needs to be connected to the 12v antenna power output of the new aftermarket stereo.

The phantom power feed terminates in a junior timer receptacle terminal to make it easy to connect into the electric antenna turn on position of a standard ISO connector. We also have this part available with a male bullet connector to make the phantom power lead easier to connect to ISO cables and steering wheel control interfaces with a female bullet connection for the electric antenna turn on, the 21-139K.

Universal patch lead

Universal patch lead for 29-CT series steering controls. Suitable for Alpine, Clarion, JVC, Kenwood, Pioneer, Sony and Chinese head-units that are steering wheel remote ready.

This cable plugs into the Steering wheel control box and into either the 3.5mm socket or single wire on the back of the head-units. Follow instruction to cut loops if needed.

Important Fascia: 

• The fascias are made to suit industry standard sized stereos such as Alpine, JVC, Kenwood, Pioneer, Sony etc, NOT INCLUDING China units or unbranded units. 
• China units have a reputation to be over sized and may require modification to the fascia to allow it to fit.
• We do not take any responsibility for China units not fitting as they are not industry standard size.
