A Cleaner Transit Custom Stereo Upgrade
Install a modern 9 inch stereo while retaining supported factory controls, display information and parking sensor audio. The vehicle-specific fascia, interface and adapters provide a neat, integrated dashboard installation.
This complete 9 inch stereo fitting kit is designed for selected Ford Transit Custom Trend models manufactured between 2012 and 2016. It is intended for compatible vehicles with the original information display positioned above the factory radio.
The kit includes the vehicle-specific fascia, CAN-Bus steering wheel control interface, universal patch lead and AM/FM aerial adapter required to install a compatible 9 inch Perfect Fit aftermarket head unit.
In addition to retaining the original steering wheel audio controls, the interface maintains supported date, time and temperature information on the factory display. It also retains the original parking sensor audio through the supplied replacement buzzer.

Please check before ordering: This kit is not compatible with Euro 6 vehicles or models fitted with an “M” button. Vehicle equipment can vary, particularly during the 2016 model year. Compare your dashboard and steering wheel controls with the product images.
An additional OEM lock and hazard switch assembly (FORD-F1519127) may be required if the original can not be retained.
Factory Features Retained
Steering Wheel Audio Controls
- Continue using supported original steering wheel buttons with a compatible aftermarket stereo.
Parking Sensor Audio
- Retains the audible factory parking sensor warnings through the replacement buzzer supplied with the interface.
Original Upper Display
- Maintains supported date, time and temperature information on the original display above the radio.
Useful CAN-Bus Outputs
- Provides supported ignition, speed pulse, reverse gear, parking brake, illumination and antenna remote outputs.
Fascia Adaptor
Replaces the original radio surround and integrates a compatible 9 inch Perfect Fit head unit into the Transit Custom dashboard.
Steering Wheel Control Interface
The steering wheel control interface retains supported steering controls, display functions and factory parking sensor audio.
The aftermarket stereo must have a compatible wired steering wheel remote-control input. Available button functions depend on the original controls and the features supported by the new stereo.
Telephone buttons may not be retained where they share functions with the seek buttons.
The interface retains supported factory parking sensor audio using the replacement buzzer supplied with the interface
AM/FM Aerial Adapter
The male Fakra-to-male DIN aerial adapter connects the original Ford aerial plug to the new stereo.
The included 21-106 is a passive Fakra-to-DIN aerial adapter. It does not provide phantom power and is unsuitable for aerial systems that require a powered antenna amplifier.
Universal Patch Lead
The universal patch lead connects the interface to compatible Alpine, Kenwood, Pioneer and other supported stereos.
The included 29-025 patch lead connects the steering wheel control interface to the remote-control input on a compatible aftermarket stereo. It can be configured for several supported stereo brands.
The patch lead works with a compatible InCarTec 29-series interface and does not operate as a standalone adapter.
Important Vehicle Compatibility
This kit is for selected Ford Transit Custom Trend 2012-2016 models with the original display above the radio. It is not compatible with Euro 6 vehicles or models fitted with an “M” button.
Original Display Retention
The interface maintains supported date, time and temperature information on the original upper display. It also allows the time and date to be adjusted using supported steering wheel controls.
Installation Advice
Installation should be completed by a suitably experienced person. Test the stereo, steering controls, original display, parking sensor audio and radio reception before refitting the dashboard panels.
Important Fascia:
- This fascia is designed to fit only Kenwood and Pioneer Perfect Fit 9" stereos.
- No other stereo brand is suitable.
